Launch of the Thrane & Thrane SAILOR 3771 Alarm Panel FleetBroadband

AST are pleased to announce that Thrane & Thrane have unveiled the first ever voice distress alarm panel for FleetBroadband during a press conference at Nor-Shipping 2011. The new alarm panel will allow Voice Distress Calling (non-SOLAS) over Inmarsat's FleetBroadband terminals.

Inmarsat's new Voice Distress Calling service provides full priority access in both ship-shore and shore-ship communication in emergency situations, together with pre-emption for distress priority calls initiated by activation of the 'red button'. Essentially, the service is able to interrupt any non-urgent calls once the distress button has been activated and gives full priority to subsequent emergency communications, therefore improving safety onboard. The Inmarsat service will be active from July 2011.

Thrane & Thrane are due to launch the Alarm Panel during July, prior to when the service will go live from Inmarsat.

SAILOR 3771 Alarm Panel FleetBroadband includes:
  • U-bracket
  • Flush mounting kit
  • User manual
  • MSRP - €375
Thrane & Thrane is the first manufacturer to offer a system to take advantage of this new safety service. The new SAILOR 3771 Alarm Panel FleetBroadband has been designed for straightforward integration with the market dominating SAILOR FleetBroadband 150, 250 and 500. Set-up is easy thanks to use of the new protocol ‘Thrane LINK’ only a single Ethernet cable is required to connect it.
